H. G. Watts is a Baby Boomer ̶ born and bred in the Midwest ̶ with a brief stint in New York City. As a young teen, she began writing professionally for a daily newspaper and received various awards for her work including national recognition for the youth section she edited.
Her bachelor’s degree in journalism is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has also worked professionally in television, radio, and corporate communications where she edited a regional magazine.
The most important things in her life are Faith and family. She likes to spend time at home or somewhere in Italy…enjoys reading…and occasionally draws or paints. She has a like-dislike relationship with golf. Watts’s words to live by: “Thy Will be done.”
Since publication of her historical novel “Blood of the Seven Suns: A Medieval Novel Based on Real People & Events” in 2019, Watts has been busy meeting with area book clubs and doing presentations to local groups about her novel and its heroine: Jacoba of the Seven Suns – the powerful, wealthy Roman noblewoman who shares the crypt of St. Francis of Assisi, the reformed playboy who considered women “honeyed poison.” Jacoba was also the only woman at the saint’s deathbed.
